Understanding Our Comfort Scale (1–5)
Shopping for a sofa bed online means you can't try before you buy, so we did it for you. Every Spaze sofa bed is rated on a 1–5 Firmness Scale across two dimensions: Seat Comfort (how it feels day-to-day as a sofa) and Sleep Comfort (how it performs as a bed). Whether you're furnishing a small apartment, creating a guest room solution, or choosing a primary sofa for a living room, this guide helps you find the right fit with confidence.
Firmness is personal. Ratings reflect our product testing and verified customer feedback, your experience may vary slightly.
Level 1 – Extra Firm (Currently Unavailable)
The firmest option in our lineup, designed for those who want maximum structure and zero sink.
Note: We currently do not carry any sofas at this level.
Level 2 – Firm
A firm, structured feel engineered to keep you lifted and fully supported. The high-density foam delivers consistent, no-nonsense comfort for those who prefer real support over a plush feel. Pair with a memory foam topper for an enhanced sleep experience.
Model: Coda
Level 3 – Medium Firm
Firm, dependable, and comfortable enough for daily lounging. Durable metal frames and high-density foam hold their shape over time, delivering balanced support without sacrificing structure. We recommend pairing with a memory foam topper for a softer sleep experience.

Level 4 – Comfortably Firm
The most popular firmness level in our collection. These sofa beds offer a more cushioned feel than medium-firm, without losing the support structure you need for daily use. Solid pine wood frames add flexibility and warmth to the feel, making these models ideal as a living room sofa bed or a go-to guest bed that sleeps well.

Level 4.5 – Medium Soft
Close to our softest, but with just enough structure for everyday living. These sofa beds feature cushioning engineered to respond to your body, eliminating pressure points, and bouncing back perfectly after every use. The result is a cozy feel from the moment you sit down, and a sleep surface that feels more like a real bed.

Level 5 – Soft
The softest sleep comfort in our collection. Engineered for those who refuse to compromise on sleep, a sink-in feel backed by a 3.9" high-density foam mattress. No mattress topper required. The Aspen is our standout Level 5 sleeper and rated Level 4 for seat comfort for balanced everyday support.
